Randal S. Knight received his BA, Magna Cum Laude, in History, Political Science and Classical Studies from Kent State University in 1988 and earned his JD from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1992 where he served on the staff of the UDSL Law Review and was selected to the National Moot Court Team. Randal began his legal career as law clerk for the Honorable James A. Brogan of the Second District Court of Appeals of Ohio. After his appellate clerkship ended in 1994, Randal worked managing litigation for a national bank and then for a small boutique litigation firm. In 1996, he opened his own law practice specializing in consumer protection law. Throughout his career, Randal has taught law in various adjunct capacities including as an adjunct professor of appellate practice and procedure at the University of Dayton School of Law.
In 2005, Randal was appointed as a juvenile magistrate in the Montgomery County Juvenile Court. Randal has presided over civil custody, parenting time and child support cases. Randal is currently a member of the Ohio Association of Magistrates.
