Visitation

Detention Services

All youth housed within Detention Services are afforded the right to visit in person with parents and guardians two (2) hours per week. These are conducted in one hour blocks two times throughout the week. To accomodate parents schedules, there are available visitation sessions during the week and weekend period. Detention services also offers 20 minute weekly virtual visitation sessions via electronic means (e.g. Facetime, Zoom, Duo.)

Visitation schedules are set based on a youth’s currently assigned unit (i.e. 2W, 2X, 2Y, 2Z, 3W, 3X, 3Y). Detention Services Supervisors make every attempt to contact parents/guardians concerning their child’s visitation schedule when the youth is admitted or transferred to a different unit.

Physical contact with family visitors must be appropriate and brief and will only be permitted at the beginning and end of each visit. Youth may not receive anything from visitors.

Visitation may be suspended for someone breaking the rules. If there is an emergency at the facility, visitation could be suspended for everyone until it is safe.
